Snowmobiling is a favorite pastime in Vermont and we have the trails to enjoy it here in the Kingdom! Imagine a quick trip to town to pick up a few picnic items. Meet friends and tour through hills, valleys, woods and lake overlooks for several hours and fifty miles. Pull into your favorite inn for a romantic candlelight dinner—all off-road on your snow machine! Then proceed home with memories to last a lifetime. This is all possible due to the members of the Vermont Association of Snow Travelers (VAST), a non-profit, private group that includes over 140 clubs statewide, with over 45,000 members combined. Eighty percent of Vermont's trail system is on private land. Snowmobiling is a privilege and is permitted only through the traditional generosity of thousands of Vermont property owners and the respect shown to those people and that land by the users.
